As a very expressive drawer, I transferred techniques of loose and directional strokes into a three-dimensional space with this project. I vary wire gauge for both the form’s structure and for visual weight. The buckle straps are dense layers of thin wire contrasted by the transparent leather and thick soles to highlight the wrapping form and to balance the composition.

I use a variety of wire gauges, wire cutters, pliers, and a power drill with techniques of contouring, bending, joining, twisting, and layering.
